Learning path
The Bigiverse Learn curriculum — cohort based, project driven, and free.
Welcome to the Bigiverse Learn curriculum. This is the reading companion to the live program: every class page lives beside a scheduled session, and every project builds toward your public portfolio.
How the program works
- You join a cohort with a fixed start and end date.
- Each week follows a learning path (see the week-by-week lesson plan in your cohort curriculum tab).
- Live classes are scheduled on the calendar with meeting links and notes linked from the class page.
- You build projects in public (GitHub + live demo) and submit them for review.
- Approved projects are showcased to the Bigiverse team — that is the point of publishing your work.
What we teach
| Module | Weeks | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Foundations & environment | 1–2 | Git, shell, editor, deployment basics |
| Backend systems | 3–8 | Idempotent HTTP APIs, auth, databases, background work |
| Bridge to Bigiverse | 9–10 | Build an API on Bigiverse primitives, measure it, and ship it |
| Portfolio | 11–12 | Polish one featured project and publish it |
Each class page in the left sidebar covers a single session. Use your dashboard next class card to jump straight into today's notes.
Class 1 — Your environment
Class 2 — HTTP essentials
Class 3 — Databases that survive
Class 4 — Auth that is actually safe
Class 5 — The Bigiverse bridge
Class 6 — Shipping in public
The non-negotiables
- Publish your work. A project you finished and shipped beats ten half-finished drafts.
- Show your work. Progress notes, failed builds, and design decisions make your portfolio readable.
- Help your cohort. Reviewing a peer is the fastest way to notice gaps in your own understanding.
